· WHAT & WHERE IS THE SERIAL NUMBER? ·
The age of your Schweighofer piano can be found out by looking at the serial (or opus) number and comparing it to the serial number table. The serial number is unique to each piano and on Schweighofer pianos it consists of up to 4 digits.
On Schweighofer pianos the serial number is usually found on the left side of the bass strings, inside the case, close to the dampers. It is usually obscured be the music desk, which can be removed for an easier look. Here are a few examples:
