This list of opus (serial) numbers is starting with 1832, the year when Johann Michael Schweighofer started his own piano company. His father, Michael Schweighofer, was not numbering his instruments, but his oldest known piano is dated 1792. The numbers refer to the beginning of the respective year. Estimated accuracy +/- 1 year.
The serial number should be interpreted as "not older than year ...".
